Hybrid IP PBX 

 

PX24M and PX24X systems are HYBRID IP PBX  PBX systems. A Hybrid IP PBX provides analog TDM, digital TDM, and VoIP capabilities at the same time. Consequently, it is possible to use a mixture of analog, digital, and IP based terminals like phones in the same system. Furthermore, a Hybrid IP PBX offer similar features and services to both TDM and IP users. Migrating to VoIP is easy and comfortable with using a Hybrid IP PBX system.

 

May be IP PBX only and NOT HYBRID. Consequently, it may not be possible to use a mixture of analog, digital, and IP based terminals like phones in the same system.

VoIP Users

 

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems support hundreds of H.323 entities such as IP terminals, gateways, and gatekeepers. Similarly, they support hundreds of SIP user agents such as IP terminals, gateways, and registrars. This is a STANDARD feature and no payment required like VoIP user license fees.

 

Limited number of VoIP users (perhaps dozens of users only). UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear when purchasing additional licenses to expand the VoIP user capacity.

H.323 Protocol Support

 

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems support both SIP and H.323 protocols. Although SIP seems to be more popular in IP PBX market, BOTH SIP and H.323 protocols are available in a PX24 without any cost.

 

Usually SIP PROTOCOL EXISTS ONLY.

SIP and H.323 Integration

 

Both protocols coexist on the same PX24M or PX24X Hybrid IP PBX system. SIP and H.323 calls may originate and terminate in the same PX24. Furthermore, PX24 systems allow calls from SIP based devices to be routed to H.323 based devices and vice versa. With this SIP-H.323 INTEROPERABILITY, enterprises may have the ability to use both protocols and various VoIP equipment in the same network. 

 

Usually THERE IS NO SUCH SIP-H.323 INTEROPERABILITY

More Services for IP Users

 

In addition to the standard H.323 and SIP protocols, PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems support a proprietary VoIP protocol (xSIP) to make VALUE-ADDED SERVICES to be APPLICABLE FOR IP TERMINALS applicable for IP terminals too. To illustrate, xSIP allows Busy Display Panel showing the status of the PBX users and ports to be available for IP users (such features are not possible with the standard VoIP protocols).

 

May not have such  a proprietary VoIP protocol to donate IP users with more features. Even, there may not be any value-added services except some standard supplementary services. The result may be  LESS FEATURES AND SERVICES in running the business. 

VoIP Channels

 

IP-to-TDM, TDM-to-IP simultaneous call routing capacity of the  PX24M can be increased modularly in multiples of two with purchasing reasonably priced licenses. FLEXIBILITY AND MODULARITY

Secure VoIP Calls

 

 

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems support AES-256 media encrytion over H.323 and xSIP protocols. Telesis VTS480 IP telephones also support AES-256 over xSIP. While voice bridging distant offices over the IP, security of a VoIP call is guaranteed with ADVANCED ALGORITHMS.  

 

 

Encryting the media (voice) may not be possible. In some other cases, may be possible but NOT SO ADVANCED.

 

 

Web Calls, SIP Java Client Applet

 

 

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems HOST an advanced JAVA SIP client applet for web calls. Anyone can call a PX24 system with using a web browser. The applet can be run from ANY Java enabled web browser in any operating system. Since it is a standard Java applet, NO SOFTWARE INSTALLATION is required or NO PLUGIN is installed. It can be used wherever is an access to the Internet. A web browser, a microphone, and a headset are sufficient to call a PX24 system. The feature is standard (Free of charge) in PX24M systems.

 

Almost NONE hosts such an applet. Usually, an EXTERNAL SERVER does this. Sometimes, A PLUGIN IS INSTALLED. The result is NOT AN EASY DEPLOYMENT, OPERATING SYSTEM AND/OR BROWSER DEPENDANT. 

Integrated or Built-in Voice Hardware

 

Integrated digital voice recorder (DVR) has 100 hr capacity. This hardware is STANDARD in all PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems. Even the basic capacities (starter kits) are equipped with 4-channel recording and 4-channel playing capabilities. The channel capacity may be increased in multiples of 8 with additional and reasonably priced licenses. In most of the cases, the 4-channel capacity is sufficient for Voicemail and Auto attendant applications.

 

Voice recording or playing hardware is usually an option on payment. May be standard but with only several minute or hour capacity. UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear for built-in voice hardware or expanding the capacity of the present one.

Recording Personal Conversations

The integrated DVR allows bi-directional recoding of the conversation on analog and digital subscribers, and IP users. That makes the voices of both calling and called party to be recorded into a single file. Personal voice recording feature is STANDARD.

 

May not be possible. In some other cases, may be possible but limited such as; uni-directional recoding (needs post-processing), requiring optional licenses or hardware, operating in some special phone sets only. The result may be UNEXPECTED COSTS.

 

Recording all Conversations Automatically on Preselected TDM Ports

 

The integrated DVR allows bi-directional recoding of all conversations automatically on preselected TDM ports. That makes the voices of both calling and called party to be recorded into a single file. The solution is FULLY INTEGRATED and the number of automatic recording channels can be increased modularly with purchasing reasonably priced licenses.

 

May not be possible. Or may need external recording products, which cannot be managed easily. The result may be  LESS FLEXIBILITY or LESS MODULARITY.

Power Feeding Analog Subscribers (FXS ports)

 

48 VOLT DC FEED for analog subscribers (FXS ports) to drive long loops in all PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems. This also avoids some problems such as wrong operation of Caller ID detection in market-available Caller ID phones when they are fed with less voltage.

 

May be LESS THAN 48 VOLTS DC. So that, the performance of the standard analog phone sets may degrade when they are fed with low voltages

System Power

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems are BOTH MAINS AND 48 VOLT DC POWERED.  

 

Usually ONE POWERING TYPE is standard (through Mains or DC source). The other powering option may be available on payment.

 

Built-in Battery Chargers

48 Volt DC battery charging is a STANDARD feature in PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems.

 

Battery charging may not be available at all. Or it may be an option on payment. So, UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear when connecting batteries to the system.

 

Caller ID Encoders or Transmitters

 

PX24M Hybrid IP PBX systems are equipped with Caller ID encoders, which may serve to all analog subscribers (FXS ports) simultaneously. This is a STANDARD hardware and software feature and no payment required for any hardware or license. The initial capacity of the Caller ID encoders in PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems is sufficient to serve dozens of analog subscribers. The capacity may be increased with additional and reasonably priced licenses to serve hundreds of analog subscribers.

 

Hardware may be an option on payment. Or, hardware may be available but needs licensing to operate. So, UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear when connecting Caller ID phones to the system.

Caller ID Decoders or Receivers

 

PX24M Hybrid IP PBX systems are  equipped with Caller ID decoders, which may serve to all analog DC loop trunks (FXO ports) simultaneously. This is a STANDARD hardware and software feature and no payment required for any hardware or license. The initial capacity of the Caller ID decoders in PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems is sufficient to serve dozens of analog DC loop trunks. The capacity may be increased with additional and reasonably priced licenses to serve more analog DC loop trunks.

 

Hardware may be an option on payment. Or, hardware may be available but needs licensing to operate. So, UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear when connecting system to the Caller ID transmitting PSTN.

Charge Pulse Detection on Analog trunks

 

All analog DC loop trunks (i.e., CO trunks or FXO ports) in PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems are equipped with both frequency (12 or 16kHz) and Polarity Reversal detectors. This hardware and its operation is STANDARD.

 

Sometimes one type of detector is available. Sometimes hardware is an option on payment. So, UNEXPECTED COST may appear for the detection charge pulses.

Call Routing

 

Advanced Call Routing based on BOTH CALLING AND CALLED PARTY ANALYSIS.

 

May be an LCR (Least Cost Routing) based on CALLED PARTY ANALYSIS ONLY.

Computer Telephony Integration

 

Xymphony API server is STANDARD in all PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems. In PX24M, this server is ready to serve UNLIMITED NUMBER OF API CLIENTS without requiring any licenses. The XCom API Client Program is also FREE OF CHARGE.

 

API server may be an option on payment or the number of clients may be charged with licensing. So, UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear for CTI applications.

CRM Integration

 

The freeware XCom API Client program is integrated with an Open Source and Free SugarCRM. The result is a completely FREE OF CHARGE CRM solution.

 

CRM integration may be optional on payment. So, UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear for CRM applications.

PMS Integration

 

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems provide a data link or interface to PMS (property management systems). This interface enables Telesis System owners to run their business effectively.

The implementation is Micros-Fidelio`s FIAS (Fidelio Interface Application Specification) protocol. FIAS is a de facto standard in the hotel / hospitality industry. This POPULAR protocol allows PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems to be integrated easily to many PMS in the hotel / hospitality industry.

 

May not be possible. Or may be a protocol which is not widely used. The result may be  LESS FLEXIBILITY in running the business.

 

DECT Integration

 

 

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems featuring integrated SIP registrars/proxies/servers together with IP DECT base stations with SIP support provide an economical way for small, medium , and large businesses for wireless users without the expense of a separate-box DECT controller/server solution. Furthermore Telesis solution the IP DECT solution eliminates the need for non-standard cabling, a LAN is sufficient to run the base stations and simplifies administration and maintenance. The result is a COST-EFFECTIVE and EASY-TO-IMPLEMENT and MAINTAIN solution.  

 

A separate-box DECT controller/server may be needed. So, UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear when mobile users are required. The solution may also be LESS FLEXIBLE.

 

Adjunt Server Data Link

 

 

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems provide a data link or interface to an adjunct (external) call processing server. This interface enables Telesis System owners for; 1. automatic voice response to customers, which are listed in a database 2. pre-paid telephony 3. black lists (blocking customers, which are listed in a database) 4. forwarding customers, which are listed in a database, to right representatives or service groups to run the business effectively.

In this implementation, UDP is used as the transport layer. The developed  adjunct data link protocol is also very CLEAR . Furthermore, it is FREE OF CHARGE. Consequently, software enthusiasts or professionals may easily develop their own external call processing server in any platform and on any operating system.

 

May not be possible. Or may be a protocol which is on payment and difficult to implement. The result may be either NO SOLUTION or UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear.

 

Discovery Protocol (XDP)

 

 

XDP allows system servicemen and administrators to quickly and easily locate PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems in a network. XDP is especially useful when maintaining PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems in a multi-vendor network environment, which has a limited information only. Furthermore, XDP also brings some other functionalities to Telesis systems like easy programming of the system settings and resolving IP address conflicts.

The protocol is STANDARD
in PX24M and PX24X. In addition, the discovering utility XTools is FREE OF CHARGE.

 

May not be possible. Or may be a protocol which is on payment and difficult to use. The result may be either NO SOLUTION or UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear.

Dynamic DNS update

 

 

Dynamic DNS update client service is especially useful for a PX24M or PX24X Hybrid IP PBX system with the dynamic public IP address, which changes periodically (monthly, weekly or even daily). It allows the system administrator to make sure he can always access a Telesis system from anywhere in the world with using its registered hostname (like mytelesis.dyndns.org)WITHOUT WORRYING about its dynamic public IP address. Furthermore, VoIP networking Telesis systems with dynamic IP addresses become EASY with the availability of this service. The service is STANDARD in PX24M, and PX24X.

 

May not be possible. The system administrator may be WORRYING about dynamic public IP address. VoIP inteconnection of systems with dynamic IP addresses may be DIFFICULT. 

CMDR (Call Records) Buffer Memory

 

PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems are equipped with large capacity memories to store millions of Call Records. The memory hardware and its operation is STANDARD in PX24M IP PBX systems.

 

 

Hardware may be an option on payment. Or, hardware may be available but stores some thousands of Call Records only. So, UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear in applications needing to store huge number of records.

 

CMDR Reporting (Call Records Reporting)

 

The utility for Call Reporting is FREE OF CHARGE in PX24M and PX24X Hybrid IP PBX systems.

 

May be an optional program on payment. So, UNEXPECTED COSTS may appear for Call Reporting.
